Privacy policy

1. Who we are

This website belongs to JUMLSA, the Jimma University Medical Laboratory Students Association, a proposed EMLA Student Chapter. You can reach us at meletetesga1321@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

We collect only what you type into our three forms. The registration form asks for your name, your email address, your academic year, and optionally your phone number, your Telegram username, the areas you would like to help with, whether you are already an EMLA student member, and a message. The membership interest form asks for your name, your email address or phone number, and optionally your academic year, the areas you would like to help with and a message. The contact form asks for your name, your email address, a subject and a message. We do not ask for student ID numbers.

There are no accounts on this site. We do not use cookies. We do not run advertising or tracking.

3. Why we collect it

To reply to your messages and to contact you about membership.

4. Legal basis

We rely on your consent, which you give with the checkbox on each form. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us.

5. Who processes your information

When you send a form, our site host Cloudflare receives it and passes it on in two ways: as an instant message to the chapter President on Telegram, and as an email through the email service Resend. Cloudflare may also keep a copy so nothing is lost if one of those fails. Cloudflare also processes basic technical data, such as IP addresses in server logs, to deliver and protect the site. Telegram, Resend and Cloudflare handle your details under their own privacy policies.

6. How long we keep it

We keep membership interest submissions until membership opens, plus 12 months. We keep messages for up to 12 months. After that we delete them.

7. Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to withdraw your consent. These rights follow Ethiopia’s Personal Data Protection Proclamation No. 1321/2024. Email us to make a request.

8. Security

The site uses HTTPS. Access to the chapter’s inbox, the Telegram notifications and the stored copies is limited to the Executive Committee.

9. Children

This site is for university students and professionals.

10. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
